Sensual Bachata

Latin Dance:BachataSalsaTangoKizombaGalway

Bachata was born in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. Its roots are in some African rhythms, Cuban son and bolero.

As the music evolved with bands like Aventura in the 1980's so did the dance modernise.
In 2005 Korke y Judith created sensual bachata in Cadiz, Spain and today latin dance festivals all over the world, instagram and tik tok videos are awash with bachata dance. Recently it has developed into a highly expressive dance form as can be seen by dancers we recommend you watch like Sara Panero, Judith Cordero, Daniel and Desirée & Kike and Nahir, to name just a few of todays great dancers and tutors of some of our GLD teachers .

Niall and Alarcos are the main bachata teachers at Galway's biggest weekly latin night Wednesday Latino started by Marcelo Ramirez in 2007 and run today by Dj Matt Kavanagh with in house La Orquestra Kalamares playing live bachata and other music in Monroes bar, Galway city.
